Newcomer / Intro Settlement Defence Plans made me a crim...

The search for Settlement Defence Plans has turned me into a criminal :-(

I used to play this game 'on the level' - only taking 'hit' missions against pirates etc. Mebbe the occasional bit of smuggling.

But now, since the arrival of Odyssey, I've picked more locks, committed more murders, etc than ever before.

Example
I took a covert mission to download SDPs from a base.
Of course, it all went south and I got into a firefight, racked up multiple murders and a bounty of about 37,000 (yep, it was some firefight, with those pesky reinforcements lling in regularly)
'Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me'
Yes, the mission failed immediately the alarms sounded, BUT the SDP data was still on the terminal. Yayy! Hell, I wasn't going to hand it in anyway!

Yes, I know this is a computer game, and people can play any way they like.
I guess I feel as though this particular grind has FORCED me to play as a crim (at least for this part; TBH I'd just like to max out all the new Engineers, Weapons etc) and get back out exploring.)
I've played this game right from the start, negotiating all the grinds. (remember when you only got ONE widget for a USS pickup instead of the current THREE?)
However, I must say, this SDP grind is the worst in the game's history, IMHO. I do hope it gets fixed.

EDO missions are a gangsters paradise. Cue that tune :D I started a thread about this very subject on the EDO forum: it seems we're not alone and rumour control has it "clean" missions are... A possibility

The murder spree "direct approach to base raiding" is a lot of fun, but the notoriety and the bounty quickly build up and can become a hassle. It's why people preferentially hit anarchy settlements.

It would be really nice (although maybe a bit too easy?) if the silent takedown with the charge tool only stunned instead of killing NPCs. There are ways to do many missions without killing anyone, but they take far longer and it's more difficult.
