Newcomer / Intro settlement plans

I don't know if somebody will be mad enough to do that, but settlements aren't that hard to navigate through (at least during daytime - at night it can be a challenge, sometimes)

You can get a good idea about how big the settlement is if you use an access panel. It will tell you which buildings there are and how many. There will be a control centre, powerplant, some habitats, maybe a laboratory. It's not much. Each building is labeled, too, and you will soon start to recognize them even without reading the name of the buillding and once you do, you will be able to make a pretty decent mental map of the place during landing.

There are exceptions of course - some settlements are huge and points of interest far apart, which makes exploring them at night a nightmare, expecially if the settlement is in a hilly area and you can't see other parts from the one you're in.
Also, sometimes buildings are merged. I remember one settlement where the powerplant, laboratory, control centre and a habitat were one big multi-story building. I spent an hour in that labyrinth of corridors and staircases and it was quite frustrating. I had a chest bookmarked and it was right behind the wall, but actually finding a way to it took me ten minutes of running around.

Anyway. I don't think there's maps. :)
But you can approach it systematically and not get lost - going after loot chests is a great way to get your bearings and already opened chests can serve as waypoints.
And the SRV can be a big help as well. Not only it serves as a stash, but you can use it to travel quickly and on low-G planets, jumping high up and looking around can be really helpful. Just don't land on somebody's head.

There is a settlement layout 3rd party site. I've seen it mentioned here in the forums a few times recently.

Ummm...

I've seen reports from some CMDRs that some countries / territories seem to be unable to show the site. It seems that the ISPs in these territories are 'managing' which parts of the web are allowed.

So, if you are able to browse Github, I've made an offline version for those who the live site is being 'managed' - i.e. blocked.
