Shadow Warrior 2 - Free download to celebrate 10 years of GOG [Ended]

Flying Wild Hog's 2016 offbeat first-person shooter "Shadow Warrior 2" is currently available for free at GOG.com to celebrate their 10th year!

This is the standard edition with "Bounty Hunt Part 1", ""Bounty Hunt Part 2" and "The Way of the " content updates.

It's "DRM free" but the GOG Galaxy Client is required to access Multiplayer.

There's a smidge under 43.5 hrs remaining at the time of posting to go and grab it.

That "client" (which is just a repackaged chrome browser displaying a web page) is just awful.

It also doesn't get me the benefits of Steam In-Home-Streaming / Steam Link, Steam controller support and Steam achievements.

When GOG launched in 2008, it was something special: good old games, region-free, flat pricing, no launcher, no censorship.

All this is gone since 2014, they just added everything I hate about digital PC stores without offering any of advantages of Steam.

It turned into an inferior Steam clone. Happy anniversary, GOG!

If you like the new Doom, this game has that gameplay but way better in so many aspects in my opinion. I couldn't stop playing it since I started it earlier today.

Great old school level design (vertical and open), awesome and quite fluid gameplay (dashing, dual jump, melee combat and a lot of weapons + upgrades), and great sense of humor (plenty of references and lines from action movies and games you'll sure know).

Great game no doubt of it. ;)

You don't have to use the launcher you know. Everything is still independently downloadable and DRM free. They created the launcher because people LIKE the social infrastructure, friend lists, and matchmaking that Steam has.

Well thanks for sharing. Have a slow clap.

I enjoyed my slice of GOG's birthday cake and I didn't mind if it was handed to me on a basic paper plate.

Pity you felt the need to come and try derail a second thread with whatever grievance you clearly have against GOG. Hopefully it didn't put anyone else off from grabbing a great game.
