Shadowplay/capturing and why it's amazing for this game

Shadowplay, for those that don't know, is an Nvidia specific capture device in any GTX video card from around the 600 series and up. It runs in the background and can either run manual capture or the last 1-5 minutes when you click the shadow record button.

Shadowplay great for collecting great videos and funny or SERIOUS bugs. It only uses up space if you record but I use the shadow record (hit button and it records the last 2 minutes). I've RECORDED two bugs. The first was me dying to the capital ship jumping inside me and blowing me up. The second bug was the whole server up that left people billionaires, which I attached to a ticket.

If you have Shadowplay or a capture card, keep it running if you can. I record all my bugs (plus awesome kills, views, funny things) and if I die and lose a ton of cash or have something gamebreaking happen, I record it, edit out the extra bits, and put the clip in my support ticket once uploaded to Youtube. Word is good, but proof is better.

What about you? Anyone capture their play for Youtube clips, Let's Plays, or Stream? I'd love to be a Youtuber but it's too much effort for me personally so I just upload short clips as shown if I want to show anyone.

I have and use Shadowplay and I agree it's great! I've recorded a few video's but I'm too lazy to edit anything at the moment. You bring up a good point with the bugs. I'm going to try and start doing that as well.

Yep, I've been using it all the time I've been playing the game. Quite a few tickets from me during beta with YouTube links included to help "describe" the problem better :D

I Shadowplay every game I play. I like the ability to show something happened, be it an awesome long sniper shot, a funny bug that'll never happen again, or just hilarity overall. This is the first game where I've thought of using Shadowplay as a but capturing device. Plus it saves me time writing long descriptions about how or why something happened when I could use that energy editing and uploading the clip I captured of the thing happening.

My only problem with Shadowplay is it records all computer audio so while capturing if I play music, listen/watch podcasts, or am Skyping it picks that up to. I listen to music externally through my phone to speakers and watch Youtube/Netflix through the TV via console just so my capture audio won't be ruined. Lol.

GVR stands for something? I didn't know AMD had their own capture device. Ya learn something new every day!

Note that you can configure how far into "the past" Shadowplay records in the nVidia config center (whatever that's actually called, I didn't care). I have set it to a bit over 15 minutes so I can dump those epic WoT win / fail games (including battle stats screen) post-mortem without having to load a replay file. Plus, as OP pointed out, great for capturing those "race condition" bugs that only pop up once in a lifetime.

I only have it set to 2 minutes because I use Shadowplay for mostly highlights or short clips, plus if I get lazy and don't edit the raw files they don't eat my harddrive! 2 minutes is 500MB and I have maybe 2 dozen+ raw clips I have to edit. Atleast 1 dozen in Elite alone.
