"Shall we play a game?": ONLY For Old Skool fans of the BBC Micro and its games back catalogue
WARNING: If you are a fan of the BBC Micro and do not want to spend hours wasting some hours playing old BBC Micro B games then leave now and close the door behind you.
"Shall we play a game?"
SECOND WARNING: Still want to indulge in some BBC BASIC programming or play some classics (there's a choice of at least a 1000...maybe double that)?
Then you can take a long trip down memory lane with this amazing Javascript BBC emulator:
http://bbc.godbolt.org/
To play classic games like Arcadians, Defender, Frak, Frogger, Meteors,Repton click on 'Discs' --> 'From STH archive' --> tick 'Autoboot' and then choose your game.
Although some games where you cannot change the keys maybe difficult to play, especially ones with symbols due to the differing keyboard layouts.
The author of JSBeeb mentions some of the Elite key settings in a Frontier forum post from 2014:
In-browser Elite emulator
Anyway an amazing job to get the BBC B/Master working in Javascript. The author even has a YouTube presentation and definitely deserves some views & thumbs up for it especially as if you are like me and grew up with the BBC Micro:
Enjoy but don't blame me if you wake up in a few days wondering where your life has gone. That's your own fault for not heeding my warnings.
