Shall we try to be a little bit Elite ourselves?

Folks, I think we need to lighten up, just a little. Granted 1.1 was a little bit of a , but I have seen worse -- the negativity on these forums makes me want to watch an episode of Game of Thrones to cheer myself up!

This is a computer game. A complex computer game. The devs are human, just trying to do the best they can, probably going home to their families at night, throughly depressed that things are not the best they can be yet, but they come back each day to try to make it better, for us. Their customers. They do listen, they try to be better, and they need our support. They don't get everything right, but neither do we -- it takes time, and it takes effort.

The idea of being Elite in the game has always appealed to me, standing as a figure of excellence -- perhaps as a community, we can aspire to do the same and give the devs a break?

No sense stressing out over things that will likely be fixed eventually. No doubt it can be frustrating to have game breaking bugs but so far my experience has been positive. Couldn't log in to play when the 1.1 went live. Meh, I went and made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and watched my cat play with it's tail for a while. Came back and the game worked. In essence: don't sweat the small stuff. You'll live longer.

Well put, OP! I always try to be Elite, I trust in the decision making and competence of FD, and I'm fully confident for the future of ED!

Live long and prosper! Quite right, I have to accept that this is an online system, and if there is a server issue, its best to leave it for a bit and go and do something else. Yes that's frustrating if you have allocated a specific time to play around other commitments, but I am sure the atmosphere in the FD server room / control centre reflects their angst and concern as well. To put it simply, I am sure they want the best for the players, but they sometimes make decisions and changes which alter the mechanics elsewhere in an unforeseen manner, or test it themselves, but only when in the wild, on a particular hardware configuration (there must be thousands) it doesn't work as expected. Not a job I would like, trying to please the planet.

Yes! I always saw The Elite as Knights in space. Maybe we should start to act with the honour of knights...
