Shame on you fdev

Shame on you. Ship kits are not consistent (both the shaders and geometry) with paintjobs, ship pieces are badly aligned and thrown there without any attention.

I advise any white knight to refrain from defending these lousy jobs, you will just give them an incentive to keep lowering the bar.

I remind fdev these cosmetics are not free and constitute the income for the game, so they should be of superior quality.

You should visit this link so that you may refresh the enthusiasm you had during the kickstarter campaign, it seems this enthusiasm is just showcased now in empty announcements.

It's mostly about the way people say things and seldomly about the content. While I don't mind the resemblence to another ship kit, since buying it is still my own choice, the way you complain about it is pretty rude. So sign me off as a White Knight or whatever you want, since I am too old for this teenager net-naming nonsense anyway, and perhaps consider being more polite?

Apart from that II think the ship kit really looks cool on the iCourier. Just sayin'. :)

Should care less for the form and more for the substance. I do not think I am rude, I am sharing my disappointment towards the developers and part of the community who I think have a very low standard, in turn enabling the developers to be lazy. Vicious circle.

As far as liking the courier kit, if you do not eat for days you will like anything. It does not change the fact that it is a lousy job.

The iCourier kit with paintjob looks bling in this Reddit image post:

one nice screenshot that hides ugliness is not going to change my opinion.

wings are misaligned, ok I get it, that might be personal preference.

But the fact that it is the same as the cutter kit and the poor geometry integration on the main model constitute proof of lousiness.

Also THESE GODDAMN GREY parts. Half baked customization.

Vote with your wallet & just don't buy the ship kits & paint packs you don't like. I think a lot of them are low effort, I just don't buy them.

There’s a certain culture of being young that is all about being the best and personally I have a hard time checking that.

It often gets missed but the other option of frontier doing a better job is a morally valid point of view.

'Better' is a subjective term. Even if a cosmetic item isn't as good as it could be in your eyes (or mine) it may make the ship look better in someone elses eyes, particularly if it's the only one available.

Just don't buy the stuff you think is bad, and buy the stuff you think is good. It's what everyone else does. If you think there's something wrong with it (as I do with the Python Wireframe paintjob that still hasn't been fixed after several years) raise a bug report.

I see you keep missing my point. I am talking about the technical realization. Which is objectively bad. And the community is praising the developers for it. Weird isn't it?

OP. you are objectively right. There are plenty of shipkits and paintjobs not working well together, simply because the approach of just putting the main color of the paintjob onto the ship kit pieces. That is absolutely horrible in combination with every paintjob that has a color gradient or with the corrosive ones.

There's also some shipkits that go over the decal placement on the ships. Yes, this is all pretty low quality for a fairly high price.

Still the wording and attitude with which you brought the point across could use improvement.

So you have higher standards, vote with your wallet. And the circle is complete.

If you bought something that was good (or has a simple mistake easily fixed) and it is then made objectively worse for no apparent reason (or not promptly fixed) there is grounds for complaint. Beigegate was like this, I wasn't concerned about the planet colours in the least but lots of others were & FDev eventually made the galaxy a more colourful place.

This is not one of those occasions. You can just not buy the stuff you think doesn't represent good value. If other people like it, fair play to them. Occasionally we see really good cosmetic items & they do receive much more praise.

You are entirely within your rights not to buy them if you don't like them, but telling other people not to buy them because you don't like them is both self-important and a bit sad.

You are misguided in your interpretation, leading you to personal insults I see. I am not telling people not to buy them. I am pointing out that buying them will make the developers think they are doing a good enough job and we will all get worse content. Again, it is not about me not liking or liking them, they are objectively poorly made.

What attitude? because I said white knights? It is a fact that there is a part of the community who defends the developers even when they are sloppy and lazy. I think the definition is precise.

I have normal standards. If you force yourself to lower standards and give them cash for anything, we will get a low standard new era of elite dangerous, not in line with the original plans.

Hay Lex Fernetti. Here an idea next time. Post on Ship and ask to have someone fly out and show you it before you buy it.

Ah Lestat, I remember you doing wrong assumptions in the past, I see you still waste bytes without pursuing knowledge first.

I did not buy the kit. I see also Stigbob posted a photo of a paper tissue box to make fun of me which was moderated. No doubt nowadays most of the community is happy with these low standards.

But being you a salt miner, I am not surprised.
