Newbies are not welcome and criticism of ED is not welcome. Fact in this forum.

I have been around since the early beta and been absent for long periods due to the problems in ED. Spent many years / hours on the forum, if not in mostly a quiet mode.

I come back for Horizons because I paid a premium for it and guess what, still the same with the same old cronies belittling all the newcomers with their superior f'ing knowledge of 3 years or more of forum posts.

Seriously, ED has problems, serious problems and one (if a little) of the problems is the hatred in this forum that probably give Frontier the thought of, why f the should we bother.

If this forum was a little more friendly and took their fingers out of their and Frontiers asses, perhaps the forum would be more successful and perhaps, JUST PERHAPS, frontier would see the value.

Sorry you feel that way, but I can say that as a relative newcomer I have had the opposite experience with this forum.

I have asked quite a few questions and all of them have been answered. No judgment, no snide comments... just people willing to help.

It can be hard to focus your attention inward, I get that.. but honestly.. a big portion of it is all in how you ask. If you come here and tell people that you're new, that you're trying but you need help, they are pretty receptive. If you come here and rant and rave and blame the game or the community for the things you don't understand then the community will react in an entirely different way.

Might be a good time to focus on your own mindset and attitude. I know you'll likely read this as me being condescending, and I do apologize if it comes across that way. It's not the intent, it's just helpful advice.

IMHO the most effective approach to any public Forum is :

- find what you seek, maybe grab a few pearls if you can find some
- focus on the relevant Information/Data/Knowledge, not on the persons or personalities (good old CRM basics)

That way you get the best out of it without ever needing to "get personal". For everything else, there's always the Forum's Ignore function.

OP, you should go read the newcomer's forum. Y'know, where the newcomers go for help? You'll find that things aren't as bad as they seem. Newcomers forum is a very inviting place with many helpful people.

As someone who regularly helps newbies to settle in, while also posting in suggestions forum and occasionally being salty about some particular features without any retaliation on FD's part, I would beg to differ and also ask you whether you would be inclined to back your disgusting slur up with something solid.
Saying that something is a fact should usually be followed by verifiable data.
