shaped wall peices move in all directions

I keep asking and asking and asking for this feature but it is NEVER added and it's not fair. It would be nice, not to mention useful if shaped wall pieces were able to move in ALL directions and not just round and round. Flipping them upside down would be useful for buildings.

Please add this feature and make this possible, I'm fed up of asking for this and everyone else's requests getting put into the game except mine! I have paid a lot of money for this game and as a player I DESERVE to have my request granted and put into the game! [mad]

I don’t think your agressive post will help us... Why that ridiculous font-size?!? Do you really think that it enforces your message? I think it will bring about the opposite...

Hi PlanetCoasterFan4Eva,

This feature has been on my wishlist as well for quite some time as i agree it would be a nice addition.
Don't think though you are the only person who's request doesn't make it into the game. I think a lot of people have requests that will never make it into the game. you can't really blame Frontier for it as the game has over a million users, and the amount of requests is probably similar. There is no chance they can add each and every request unfortunately.

Also keep in mind the technical aspects of it. It may look like a small thing to ask, but you never know whats under the hood. Maybe it will break some stuff if they simply make them rotatable in every direction (For example, the grid)

Last but not least, don't see it as a personal offence your request hasn't made it into the game. Im sure Frontier values your feedback just as much as they value others feedback.

You really think your requests are the only ones not making it in the game? Really?

This would be nice to have but I don't believe it is a simple as just "adding it". This goes for all grid based components and most likely would require a major redesign of core engine code.

Personally I think you are shooting yourself in the foot by the original font size and the aggressive, condescending wording against the developers. This tactic probably just delays implementing features rather than speed them up. The whole community loses out...

1. Don't expect Frontier to release them.
2. Make your own in the Thememaker Toolkit if you so desperately need them (or ask for them in the request section for TMT items).
3. And don't behave like a little kid that doesn't get for Christmas what she's asked for... [down]

How do I do that please? I have no idea how to use the thememakers toolkit to enable wall pieces to flip upside down, if you know how to do this - please do share your knowledge with the rest of us - firstly, where and how do we find the wall pieces we want to turn upside down in the planet coaster folders on our computers?

My opinion throughout:

Although I doubt a text-post version of a temper tantrum would (nor should) be persuasive to Frontier, ad hominem shouldn't be used to obscure the simple facts that this is a reasonable request and one that several people have made.

Nor is it one that should be particularly difficult for the devs to do -- a simple toggle-box in the settings of a Grid placement thing like a wall-arch piece could be added to change that piece to Free Form placement. We now can filter by Grid placement and Free Form placement in the Building and Scenery tabs' Property filters (when was that added? It's been very helpful!), which shows the data's accessible enough to do this.

But the Toolkit option would be a good point, if Frontier was providing us with the objects and textures in the wall sets -- without them, trying to seamlessly model (and especially texture!) some of the pieces would be very difficult. The licensing on the Toolkit Example Scenes shows Frontier can do so without endangering their IP rights. Is it less work for them to make these available to us (even just as obj & png files) than to set up another toggle-box in the settings of the gridded items? I'm sure a toggle box on already in-game content would be far less resource-intensive during gameplay, but making all the walls, roofs, and other gridded content available for Toolkitters to modify'n'upload would undoubtedly be popular!

And if Frontier doesn't want to do either? RCT3 modders have years of experience getting around similar problems on encoded content, don't they? Although I doubt many of us want to go that way unless Frontier makes it necessary.

We’re not able to. We don’t have access to those type of files. They meant you would have to make your own walls by using a 3d modeling software. We don’t have the texture files to recreate the walls that come with the game.

That's actually not a bad idea, a toggle box included with shaped wall pieces that enable us to flip them in ALL directions by just ticking a box would be extremely useful! Good Idea
