Ships Shard cannons - worth having?

Taking a run to Guardian sites soon and was wondering if unlocking shard cannons was worth it.

For the aesthetic of the pew-pew? Yes. For fun? Yes. For combat effectiveness? No, not even remotely.

I've found them very effective against Cyclops targets (hard to miss I guess ) but for anything else no.

For all round usefulness the FSD booster and the Guardian shield enhancement package are well worth having.

Gauss cannons are great but they'll cook your ship if you're not careful.

Visually the Guardian fighter are fantastic but they're just too fragile to be much use in combat, shame really.

Be on the lookout for guardian tech components. They are the bottleneck in Guardian tech. Not the blueprints
