share missions..

When players wing up, they want to feel as though they can be a team, one thing that bugs me is the fact when me and my friend are winged up, we can not do the same missions. We are fine in space going into zones just blasting, but when it comes to visiting the bulliten board we just do not see the same missions.

A share mission button would be a great little feature, it mite also help with the lack of missions there is for a certain type of mission ie mining, assassinate or smuggling missions. Where i mite not find none in a certain station, he mite find some, the share button would allow one of us to pick up that mission/missions, share and off we go a happy wing where were off both doing the same quests with one an other.

Its that simple, both to impliment and to bring a better gameplay experience to Wings and players playing as co-op....

Please support the idea because it really makes sense to add this feature to the gane.

Yeah, good idea! i think this makes wing gameplay much better, also make the bulletin board check if you are in a wing and show more sharable missions. especially if wingmates are all in or around the same station.

When you access a bulletin board and you are in a wing, there should be "wing only" missions available, that require more than one CMDR to achieve.

was about to create thread like this before searching for it lol. Yes missions need to be shared and off course it's difficulty levels upped same way also.

Me and my friend have tested it. If both will land on the same station and the same time. They will get both the same mission. But i dont understand why the hell always both has to land on the station to get the same mission, why there cant be a wing commander who gets the mission for the whole wing and recover the mission for the whole wing. In this game this mission system is dumb and complicated for no reason.

Having to land on the same station to get a mission it's way less than optimal, that's for granted. Now, you don't always get the same missions nor the same rewards for the same mission (yeah, I know. But I have been paid roughly 30-40% more than my mate just because more than once).

So I saw this thread and I'm surprised not that many people seem interested, yet it's still one of the main things I think FD should focus on, to take the Wings feature to the enjoyable level. I'll expose some situations first and then I'll input my suggestions.

1. You can get an assasination mission that's around 300k-400k. Target: DANGEROUS Anaconda. So you want to do this mission with your mate, which should be easy-peasy - but he/she cannot get the mission since it's only for Allies of that minor faction. He helps you out, his final profit being -22.000 (since he ends up killing some Innocent NPC that had nothing to do with him).

2. You find some juicy "KILL 40 CIVILIANS IN 2 DAYS" sort of mission. You need the money, yet your ship is SO not meant to this kind of mission, and you can't afford something better. Luckily, you've got this wonderful friend from situation 1, who made some money after paying that awful fine he got ('cause of your poorly mission-picking parameters) and got himself a very nice Vulture. So you can rock this thing together like pro's... except he's not online yet. He ends up helping you (again), since he's a nice lad, but there's no profit in that for him (again. Plus he might be losing REP like crazy).

3. Well, there it is! The Assasination mission you guys have been looking for. Some big fat Conda in a wing, with a handsome reward. What could go wrong. So you take your Cobra, and call your Vulture friend to tell him to stop whatever he's doing, get online, travel from wherever he is to wherever you are and accept the mission (note the amount of time spent in the process, and how your gameplay would basially be... doing nothing, really). You find the target, you start all the pew-pew business. Now, you're shields melt like butter against those badass lasers, and you step back a little whilst your dear friend tanks the beast for as long as he can. The process repeats for some 10 minutes, and the situation is: YAY! Conda's shields down, Hull 3%!! VICTORY!! But... Your mate has died in the process. You end up killing the Conda, yup, but your friend not only has to pay for his ship, but gets nothing from the mission (but a nice REP loss, surely).

Now, how would improving the Wings system (by adding a SHARE button) help prevent those situations?

Situation nº 0 (remember: your friend might not be able to accept the mission!!) would imply that missions are offered to individual pilots, and pilots choose to fly solo or to "hire" a wing. Keep this concept in mind, since it's most useful for situation nº 3.
What would this mean? That you're free to hire a wingman who's not necesarily allied to the minor faction offering the job - yet, he's technically going to help you out, so they'll have to accept that as it is and pay part of the reward to this guy.

Obviously, the share button would make your wingman an active part of the mission you decide to share (or vice versa), therefore meaning he'll get a real reward - apart from the satisfaction of helping you out - for doing stuff that does actually imply a loss (the REP loss I mentioned earlier, for example). Now, about those "2 DAY LONG" missions - hurray! You could SHARE your mission as long as your friend is online and in wing, right? So problem solved.

Now, assuming that there's a SHARE button, and that jobs are assigned to individuals by minor factions and those individual pilots share their missions with wingmates, they should be able to choose precentages when it comes to implication and risk in the mission. One could easily kill 30 out of 32 pirates in a mercenary mission while his mate is killing 2, and a 50/50 split looks not entirely fair, does it?

So, yeah, here it goes - you get online, your friend is already on Elite. Sends a wing invite, now you're in wing and you get a private notification saying "CMDR Friendly SHARES 'An Example Job' + mission description + total reward + amount offered for job completion || Acept\Decline".

Please note that even though bounty hunting seems to work fine with the actual Wings system, we still need to take care of Pirate-mission players, Smugglin-mission players, Assasination-mission players, etc. To be honest, I have no idea how hard this could be to impliment to the game - but no doubt it'd be one of the most awesome things that could possibly be done as it is today.

EDIT: Plus, of course, missions actually and exclusively meant for wings - that's an absolute yes, isn't it?

Stacking missions means accepting multiple missions that have the same destination, or same effect.

You can wait in the Bulletin board for the mission refresh (which occurs every 10 minutes) and then accept any new missions that you want, so you have multiple missions all going to the same destination, for example. Then you just have to fly there once.

Some people don't wait for the 10 minutes, but log out of open and back into solo, get the missions they want, then log out of solo and back into open, and in so doing get a refresh of missions every couple of minutes instead of every 10 minutes.

Oh yeah, I've read about that somewhere. Yet I don't see why the 'share button' idea couldn't be implemented whilst trying to fix that mission stacking issue (which I surely don't fully understand, since I can't figure out why would that take so much time to fix). Don't punish people who are playing the game - let's say, fairly, just 'cause of some broken game feature (such as the bulletin board mission stacking, I mean).

It's not broken, it's working as indended. :)

That some people take advantage of it, and others don't like that, doesn't make it broken.

Well, if it is meant to be, so be it - it's still no reason not to add a feature that's going to improve gameplay overall.

So people pointed out the DEVS said it is an exploit and will be taken care of..
...and you say its working as intended?
