I have heard that Major metallic ones are the best, but I'm not sure if there really is any difference.

Not sure about 1.3.04 but in 1.3.03 there really wasn't. But You might want to try the empire Arissa lavigny-duval (or what ever it was) area. You get 20% bonus with bounties within her territory.
There's a flat 20% for bounty hunting in her territory that's available to everyone. There are more bonuses for being pledged to her with Rating 2 and 5. Though yes, you don't need to be in her space to bounty hunt.

I must confess that I'm not entirely sure about that, but based on my memory there are passive bonuses in each territory, which applies to everyone. Even to those not pledged to specific power. I might be wrong of course but that's what i have read here on the forums. Then after pledging you get additional bonuses.

I spent 45 minutes in the galmap the other night just searching for pristine metallic. It was painstaking and laborious... but it paid off. That system I finally found is now my home base. The main station is only 62ls away from the RES, to boot!

You do realize that they don't dry up like trade routes right? In any case, my imgur link should be able to help him as long as he doesn't require someone to hand him something extremely specific.

If you pledge to her, you get what is listed in the Ratings tab. However, everyone receives the benefits of the Stats tab as long as the Exploitation Impact applies to what you are trying to do (e.g turn in bounties).
I visited that system and the only RES available was a normal one (no intensity) at the rocky portion of the rings.

It seems you had the wrong idea in the first place. I was not clear in the first place so let's focus on the main topic please. I'm getting tired of visiting over 9000 systems and not finding what I want.
Nope.
If you want to find one, you search for it, like the rest of us. Try looking at extraction systems on the map, generally, if there is a planet with a ring in an extraction system, there will be an extraction site. Good luck.
