She might as well be saying "friendship drive jarging" or "landing gear retracteted

The previous ship computer voice was way better.

- More clear pronunciation
- more pleasant, intimate sounding voice


What gives? why change what was great to this?

New voice:

- cold, almost harsh voice
- unclear pronunciation.
- "retracteted" is so obvious a mistake...

what are FD's sound people smoking?

Or is it all about making a cold harsh world, where loitering is punishable by death and even your ship computer can't sound friendly?

yup..that is what it sounds iike to me. Some times its...'<snip> raised' instead of ship raised.(please mods no warning on that it has context)

Here is an idea. They should sell voice packs, just like you can do with Tom toms for car sat Nav. I personally would prefer a red dwarf ship computer. This one feels to business like and way serious, wouldn't take her out in a date, that's for sure...

There are VO artists all over the UK. We even might pay for a Downton Abbey voice. The Dowager Countess at her most sarcastic, or Carson The Butler at his most pompous?

She sounds crystal clear to me. As to the tone of the voice, that is sort of a personal preference. Perhaps you need to adjust your sound system or invest in better speakers/headphones? I'm just saying. :)

However...I couldnt care less either way.

I would pay hard earned cash to be able to use Stewie's (from Family Guy) voice as my ships computer.
