Shield Cell Bank & Heat Sink Key Binding Advice Sought

Hi All,

At the weekend I bought a FGS and kitted it out for Multi-Crew. did some Engineering on it, and for it's maiden voyage I took it to a Haz RES and had some fun Bounty hunting with the NPC in a SLF.

However my heat management needs work.

I'm seeking some advice on shield cell bank and heat sink management. Apart from having them both on the same trigger in a Fire Control group, I have key bindings for the SCB mapped to A+B and HS on LB+B.

Ideally I'd like to be able to map both to the same keybind so they both trigger on one button, but that doesn't seem to be possible; please correct me if I'm wrong.

How do you set up your SCB's & HS's ?

I don't think you can set one key binding to trigger both heat sinks and shield cell banks. The only way i think you could is by setting them to a trigger in the fire groups (which it seems you've done).

I personally have B+RB = Chaff, B+LB = Shield Cell banks, B + LT = Heat sink.

I have them set to LB + RB (separately) on Y. So Y is my heat combo, I just press both when I need to.

I think B+RB is assigned by default = 'Orders' at least that's what I think it clashed with when I was playing with the set up, and being new to SLF I didn't want to mess with it to start with till I was comfortable with how to issue orders, as it happens I've been accessing the order menu using X + D-Pad Down, so I may revisit and re-assign.

I have FA Off and Stealth on those but I don't use them much so it's worth a thought.

No worries Requiem Mortis.
I'd just take what I said as an example. I'm sure there's a more logical set-up, but it's whatever works for "you" that matters really.
May need to re-visit my binding as I had the frozen menu screen bug at the weekend, so need to remap some buttons anyway.

Mine is heat sink A+lb and SCB A+RB, can't remember why default control was I've had it mapped since button mapping was possible,

if you have more than 1 scb, every time you hit RB while holding A it'll activate one SCB

A+LB = Sensor Zoom Out

I like the idea of using one major and combining with the LB/RB.

Bongo to clarify can you set both off at the same time with one triple combo or does it take two consecutive combination presses ?

I use B+X+RS click for heatsinks,
and B+X+LS click for SCB's.

You can't trigger 2 events with the same combo.

I use the same! That's two people, majority rules, A+Bumpers master race
It really does come down to whatever you are more comfortable with.

Two consecutive. It's instinctive now though; when firing an SCB with Y+LB it's automatically followed by Y+RB for the heat sink. You do need them with a 6A
