Shieldless Asp. Viable?

Seeing as the Asp's shields aren't very powerful, but its armor is good, I was thinking about a shieldless build, with armor and hull reinforcement, and heat sinks for silent running.
I manly play PvE, smuggling and assassination, occasional RES run.
Is it a viable build for my play style?
Also, would it be worth it to slap on a 3D shield for docking?
Thanks guys.

I have 3d shield on my asp. It's ok for docking errors but don't start a fight. I was interdicted by two imperial eagles and I thought maybe I can handle these with my shields but no. They took the shields down really fast and my hull down to 14% before I got out of the fight. I guess it's ok with one opponent but it's not enough if there are more than one.

For smuggling runs a shieldless Asp is perfect. B5 fuel scoop and all cargo racks and you'll be wiping with million dubloon notes in no time :D

Forget about combat though.

Slap in a bi weave shield
pushes less energy so it doesn't heat you up as much, and will provide more protection than an HRP of whatever size you choose.
armor builds are fun but I like hybrid builds a lot more, put in a small AFM module to repair your canopy and have a blast.
had a good amount of fun with an asp scout this way.

It's perfect as long as you never panic and ram a station or outpost, or if npcs never shoot at you or ram you. Oh and hope no one spawns in front of you as you boost from an interdiction, or going towards a station. Otherwise you should be fine. I use a biweave quick regeneration shield, just so I don't accidentally kill myself.
