I had a play some time ago with a stealth explorer running cooler than a super freezer, but the components were heavy and not optimised for exploration
so I went back to the drawing board recently to explore a shieldless exploration build using a 2a pp with a lower grade low emissions pp with no mass increase (so not the coolest running possible) but optimised for jump range
equally I have no armour and I haven't bother modifying it to keep the rest simple
the easy bit is landing on planets - anything below 3g is relatively normal 3-6g is tricky and requires patience to land but again can be done with 0 damage now I don't have a local planet between 6 and 9g but on 9g i can still land applying the same slow approach principle and patience is required and lots of it
so with planets given the green light what about pesky npcs and other pvp folk, well I struggle to find people in open in the first place - nevertheless when I have in my shielded version I have always disappeared out of system before our simultaneous instance has loaded, i.e. I'm already high waking by time they have targeted me
npc's are another kettle of fish and come out of sc instantly facing you (they're magic after all)
so my tactic here is to hit silent running and jump out
now on my vid it took me 45 mins with a hold full of gold to even get interdicted (by anything remotely scary.. this instance was a python) and I purposefully just flew straight without even trying to avoid shots for a kinda worse case scenario -only turning to my exit point with scope for improvement
well I only lost 2% hull I've lost more putting the kettle on while jumping to the next star so overall I would say this is a success

Needless to say the shields are now at home and I fly with an amfu in the DBx instead and have added a ly or two to my range
