I have A rated power plant, distributors and shield generator. I am no where near my power draw limits but it seems my shields are taking forever to regenerate after going down, even with 4 pipes to sys. Seems like before they used to be faster, any idea what could be wrong?

The more powerful your shield, in MJ the slower it will regenerate. This includes boosters, normal shields regenerate at 1 MJ per second IIRC.
Yup, bigger the shield slower the regeneration. Boosters increase size and lower regen time unless disabled. Pips into systems doesn't change regen rate provided there is power in the capacitor.
I don't have a booster, I may lower the shield grade just a little, thanks for the advice!
If you're happy to lower shield strength for then go for bi-weave shields.
They are are less powerful but regen faster (I think it's 1.8MJ per second).
You can then use boosters and engineer mods to bring the MJ up and keep the much faster rate.
The lower grades regenerate at the same rate, they just have a lower cap.
I recommend swapping for a Bi-Weave shields, as those actually do regenerate faster if that's what you're after.
If you have the opportunity, you can also retreat into super cruise for a bit....shields regen a little faster in SC.
