Here's 4 different ways to build the FDL in terms of shields. These are PvP builds but the best PvE builds are PvP builds. Can someone please explain shields to me? I need to pick one for my FDL and I have been getting conflicting opinions.
Fantastic builds there Sir G.Here's 4 different ways to build the FDL in terms of shields. These are PvP builds but the best PvE builds are PvP builds.
This is my favorite

All 4 are extremely successful in PvP.Fantastic builds there Sir G.
I would like to ask you about the chances of each one of these configurations, regarding survival and/or victory against a regular oponent.
Specially interested in your opinion about the viability of the last one, the short recharge time, and the reasons why you think it is a valid build.
Many thanks in advance.
Quite interesting indeed Sir.All 4 are extremely successful in PvP.
The 4th one (2 booster biweave) is for very advanced pilots. It really requires a master level of pip management and evasion skill.
The 6 booster biweave is great for 1v1's but tends to get it's butt kicked in wing fights because it relies on getting it's shield back at least once during a fight, but when there's multiple people shooting at you, it's just not possible.
The 4 booster 4A pris and the 5 booster 5A pris are by far the most commonly used with the 4 booster 4A being the more common of the two. The 4 booster 4A offers roughly 500mj's more shields with the SCB's but that's only if your opponent(s) aren't using feedback rails or they can't land their shots in time.
However, as you can see, the 4 booster also has much less hull underneath so you're pretty much dead once your shields go down.
The 5 boost does have a less maximum MJ's of shields but much stronger hull. However, it is also a bit heavier than the 4 booster and therefore doesn't maneuver quite as well. It is my personal FDL build of choice though.
Well to get a decent amount of shields from the SCB to be worth it, you need to run a 5A and a 4A which would force you to use a 4C biweave which doesn't have as good of regen as the 5C. Also, the whole idea of a biweave is to be able to tank some damage with your hull while your shields Regen and by putting SCB's instead of HRP's, you drastically reduce the amount of hull you have to tank damage while your shields Regen.Quite interesting indeed Sir.
Now biweaves leave more energy left for SCBs than prismatics, so please, any specific reason to not to mix SCBs and biweaves? Thanks again.
Many thanks for sharing your opinion I really appreciate it.Well to get a decent amount of shields from the SCB to be worth it, you need to run a 5A and a 4A which would force you to use a 4C biweave which doesn't have as good of regen as the 5C.
