Shinies Are Shinier

I've been meaning to post about these shiny white blobs on planets in supercruise, I hate to complain...

But seriously, the planets now look like highly reflective plastic balls in space with the over driven white reflection - or whatever it is.

Doesn't look natural, but alas, I don't really have experience seeing a planet from space, so . . . /shrug.

in fact, all of the lighting just seems over driven now. My Gold Asp, and Chrome Vulture don't look anything like they did in 2.0. (which was better imho)

There are plenty of footages that show water reflection from orbit, this is just one from a number of examples.

Yeah, it's because they did not put a ' polarizing filter on their lens. I mean, who does that?! I never go outside without polarized sunglasses and my CMDR certainly wouldn't fly withouy polarized glass on his visor if not the cockpit window itself.

Delighted to say, I haven't see any of the dreaded "lower than sea level ice cap" horror that plagued earlier ELW and WW polar regions.

Not only are the new polar ice caps higher than sea level, they are far more than just a coastline shape. They look really good now.

I guess the question was whether the effect is realistic - and the answer is yes. The rest is a matter of taste, I for one like it.

Shinier and shinier.
