I just noticed that the discounts for buying modules at Jameson Memorial seem to have changed.
Last time I played (about half a year ago) I received a discount of nearly 12,5% on all purchases.
This is still visible when I try selling old modules I bought at that time, because they still sell for the price I bought them at.
Now the given discount is roughly 5%. Did I miss anything in the patch notes?

Depending on when you were around to support the game in the first year there are percentage advantages. Still Jameson Memorial always does a 10 percent discount after making one of the three Elite ratings. It is the same for everyone.

Differences. Do you have a legacy ship with engineered modules that were not upgraded in the past updates?

Well, I backed the game during kickstarter and bought an alpha package. I have an Elite rating in Trading, so I should be eligible for that 2,5% discount, too. None of my modules has any kind of grandfathered engineering.

Let's have a look at an example:
A 5E Cargo Rack is priced at 111.570 creds at 100% price according to ED:SY and Coriolis.
I used to pay around 98.000 Creds for a 5E Cargo Rack, which seems to be quite in line for the discount of 12,25%
Right now I have to pay a cut above 106.000 Creds for the same carge rack at Jameson memorial.

It really seems, that something has changed...

Is there not a small additional discount for every elite status you get? As others have pointed out...not that it really matters. By the time you access the discounts at Founders you generally don’t need them anymore.

I’d trade my 10% ship/module discount for a more favorable materials trader that did 5:1 or 4:1 trades on G5 materials to reduce the grind.

Becoming an Admiral vs a King also increases the discount at Jameson for obvious reasons. Jameson is a Federal system, not an Empire system.

I don’t normally sweat discounts on the cheap parts, it’s the bulkheads and big core internals that worry me.

At least, they used to before mining became profitable.

Still odd, though.

I did a little bit of calculating and found out, that the discounts aren't equal for all parts - just as Factabulous mentioned.
I didn't check the discount for all ships, but at least 2/3 of them. The discount for most ships was roughly 14,5% - but the Federal Corvette, the Federal Gunship and the Imperial Cutter only got a discount of exactly 10%. Interestingly the other federal or imperial ships had the normal discount of roughly 14,5%.

All checked modules got the discount of 14,5% - except for cargo racks, which only got around 6% discount...

Not a bit deal, but a little bit odd indeed.

Maybe it's worth pointing that out.
Probably after restoring the old prices they didnt updated properly the discounts.

This happened when CG launched too, prices on LYR systems or SD were not properly discounted
