Shinrarta - the goal of the thargoid incursion?

One thing comes to mind, maybe they are attacking bigger population systems. They wouldn't be part of the pilots federation and more than likely wouldn't bother with human ideals or protocol. They would just see systems, aliens and tech that's it.

They are a advanced species that started attacking us after we invaded there property in the Pleiades nebula. Once they learned enough through scanning theyve started pushing into our area of control. They mustve realized by now that attacking our space ports isnt deterring our attacks against them.

This theorycrafting is not contingent on you Morbad.

Didn't imply that it was.

I'm pointing out that the galaxy is a big place, and even the bubble itself is huge. While we or our characters may very well have personal attachments to specific areas, very little of the fundamental game mechanisms would change as long as even a small fraction of the bubble was intact. Losing one's home has much less of a sting when one knows packing up and moving shop is as easy as a few jumps followed by a few clicks in the shipyard screen. Even if the PF itself bit it, it would likely feel anticlimactic, at least without further adjustment.

So it could be that there is a strategic plan (by the Thargoids) to attack the supply line for technology & Industry, but it feels more like a plague of locusts than a coordinated war. They are attracted by something, or looking for something, or possibly hiding from something.

Statistical evidence might reveal a pattern,

Canonn did a bit of analysis recently.

Broadly, yes, they appear to mainly be going for production and military systems, while one of their groups continues to check ammonia worlds.

Shinrarta is permit locked so we're safe. See that no trespassing sign? We're good [up]

Their home is in a permit locked system

I'm sure the lock only applies to us and it's a FDEV lock :)

It does pose a interesting question though. If the Thargoids inhabit a permit locked system we would have no way to get rid of them if the permit isn't freely available?

We dont know where there home is. All we know is they dont like trespassers.
