Ship and crew questions

The big one on the left is the Panther, the one on the right is the Anaconda, those are about the biggest things we will be able to fly, pretty massive if you ask me.:)

Thanks. I'd really like to see crew at some point as I believe it would add a lot to the immersion. Shows like serenity and star trek are a big part of sci-fi and they benefit from crew with personalities of their own. The way this game is structured a crew feature is something that could be added easily down the road.

I think that before we can start walking round ships the size of an Anaconda we will need to have crew or it will break immersion. There would be no sense in having a ship of that size with only yourself on board.

I'm sure you had to acquire crew in an older elite, and you couldnt launch without minimum crew. It made upgrading too a bigger ship a bit fiddly if I remember rightly.

I'm sure you had to pay them a wage aswell but I could be dreaming all this.

Nope, not dreaming, that was in Frontier.

The Panther Clipper required a 12 man crew to fly (including yourself), and you had to pay between 5-20 credits per week as salary. Per crewmember!

I'm pretty sure that David has mentioned that there will be some really big ships that we haven't yet seen in either newsletters or on the forum that we will be able to fly. The biggest ship so far I think has been the Lakon but I am expecting at least a couple that are even bigger.
