Ship blows up then..

I am literally 10 credits short to buy my hauler back.. is it gone forever? If so that's REAL discouraging and I may just give up for now. I was having fun just trading around, but now i"m back at ground zero, 12+ hours of game play ago. :(

I experienced the same thing twice. Take a break from the game and come back in a week or two. I have been on a break for a week, and feel like going back again. This time sans docking computer...

Yeah this indeed is the rough end of the stick, but lets face it... we made decisions to 'go for that run' without enough reserve to buy the ship back..

Its a bitter lesson, but there will be the same experience in the end game, so learn the hard lessons now when it doesn't really matter..

And always fly with an insurance fund (though I think you can reduce the ships modules in the insurance screen to make it a little cheaper?')

yep its kinda hard , that's what I like about it.
you got something to lose recklessness is punished hard.
I even think playing Iron mode is the best.
as long you don't lose your progress true bugs.

Elite is not a game.

In the finished version when this happens you'll be able to take a loan and pay it back through missions, unfortunately for now the harsh reality is that if you can't cover the insurance cost you're screwed..

I don't want to stick my finger into the wound but...
You suffer by your own mistake.

You invested all you had into that ship and cargo...and lost it.
That is just how it goes man. You gotta be careful and hold back a reserve for extreme cases like this.

You wouldn't invest all you have in real life as well.
Ok, well you shouldn't! :D
