Ship builder w/ engineering that works/updated?

Use coriolis for non-engineering builds, works great but no engineering builds to test/review.

Googled link for ED Shipyard at new edsy.org website, but while it has supposedly all engineering built in, with ability to select grade and even percentage in that grade, the data is obviously way off.

Tested an Anaconda using my current partially engineered for lightweight build config and jump range it gives is far too low (e.g. the tool says like 64LY vs my actual build ~74LY).

The discrepancy is even worse in that with the tool I used max G5 rolls with best special effects (lightweight, trimmed, etc) vs my actual build which isn't all fully max G5 yet, and couple special effects for trimmed lightweight on some components missing. And yet my actual build is 74+ LY vs the tool at 64LY.

TLDR - does anyone know of a ship builder tool that has actual current engineering mods built in with reliable data?

Coriolis is still my goto.

Are you importing your builds (from EDSM) or building them manually?

Not had any issues of note on my builds, certainly not to the magnitude you're describing anyway.

I use coriolis as my main shipbuilder too as well - but didn't see it had engineering built in. So I tried using ED Shipbuilder and that one is definitely not working correct with engineering data.

Just noticed now with coriolis there is a tiny little wrench icon and it looks like has engineering mods you can add. Will give that a try and see if data matches up. All this time and had no idea coriolis supports engineering.

Use Coriolis mate, at least that's my experience like Adam says. You can import things, or build from scratch.

In the little box for each component, in the bottom right there is a spanner icon - click on that to bring up all the engineer options of all grades etc. If I understand your post right, that's what you're missing - provided I understand you correctly? Apologies if I don't!

Hope this helps :)

Edit - lol ninjad by you as I typed!!

You have not made some misstakes, like adding a Guardion FSD Booster to your real build but forgot to add it to your Coriolis build? since a class 5H will give you a boost of 10 LY

I have not encountered that Coriolis have been wrong when it comes to engineering. Most of the time it have come down to me having one build in the Game, and a different build in Coriolis!

I have use sites like EDSM.NET, that can be used with 3rd party tools, that uploads your fleet to them, and from there you can get a "Coriolis" or "E:D Shipyard" shipyard link with your current ship. Which makes it very easy to tinker with your existing ship, so you do not forgot something.

Slightly mis-understood your post but glad you figured it out.

Now enjoy endless hours of theory-crafting before committing to anything.

Other useful features of coriolis are;

  • how long weapons can fire for (you can adjust the pips to match how you normally have them)
  • dmg to stock enemy shields and hull at varying ranges
  • just how effective your shields/ hull are to various damage types
  • play around with power priorities so you never deploy weapons and have everything power down (it's happened to us all)
  • in addition to your jump distance it'll also show exactly how far a full tank of gas can take you

Have fun playing around with it Cmdr

Yea, in hindsight I now recall seeing that little wrench icon all these years but never knew it meant could adjust the component.

All this time I've been using coriolis only for stock non-engineer builds. Doh!

Stats and options look great - just curious though to anyone who has an 80+ LY anaconda, how the heck are you getting that?

Are you reducing your fuel tank size and quoting the max LY stat, which imo is kinda not the 'real' LY stat from the 'max current' number.

My max current LY is ~74 LY, with room to improve a bit with max G5 rolls and couple more trimmed pieces saving few tons here and there to get max unladen/current ~76LY.

Only way I can get max 79.03 LY is empty gas tank. How are ppl getting 80+ LY anaconda builds?

That is mine, and it is even a useful build. Stock fuel tank, DSS, heat sink launcher, hull repair limpet controller, has 2 srv's, a shield, and can boost.

thanks - looks like ~77.6LY actual unladen but with full fuel tank. Looks like my 74LY has couple LY improvement options. Will tinker around bit more.

Stuff the smallest modules you can, do light as much light weight you can and you will end up with something like this (and this can still be improved on... )

83LY Anaconda
It is not a very useful ship...

Dropping some of the extras such as heat sink launcher, repair controller, and going to a 1 srv hanger gets it to 78.41/81.69, while still being a useful build, and squarely at 80ly jump with half a tank. A lot of what I do revolves around manual jump plotting with less than half a tank.

I use coriolis but it does not give the correct temp of the ship build.
Good example is my fdl ultra cool she is.. 15%.
But coriolis shows it as 47% resting heat...or am l confused here. Point is there's no correct running temp In the app.
