Hello,

I currently am on my first exploration trip.

Diamondback Explorer
Max jump range is about 39 LY, the longest jump I’ve actually made is 38.14 LY
I have a 5A FSD with level 1 engineering for jump distance.

Now based on reading up on engineering on this forum(and other places)I am making a few assumptions about engineering. Please correct me here if anything i have is wrong.

1. Any new engineering done on my FSD wipes out the previous one.
2. I don’t need to engineer in sequence. Say I have level 3 access, Do i need to first engineer at level 1 and 2 to do a level 3 on my FSD?
3. Does engineering stay with the FSD, Can I swap out the engineered FSD to another ship and keep the Results?
4. Certain engineers will accept exploration data to increase rank.
5. Felicity Farseer is one who does.
6. Does good standing with any specific engineer lock you out of other ones?
7. If reputation drops could your standing with an engineer also drop, resulting in reduced access?

Yes if you have a decent level 5 modded FSD (say over 46% increase in optimal mass) store it and start with new stock FSD

Nope if you have the mats and the level accessed you can go straight to highest unlocked level

Yes assuming the 2nd ship has the same FSD class so you could swap it to an Asp E, Python etc essentially the mod is embedded into the FSD module

Nope as long as you fulfill their requirements they don't give a hoot! you can "sell" access levels to get specific experimental upgrades with the weapon engineers

Nope only if sell access level and that only applies to the weapon guys once you reach level five with Farseer that's it
