I like when I look at comms in the top left, via headlook or directly, that is expands to show the recent history. I wish the ship info or 'dash' in the top right did this, too. I'm not keen on making it another binding (but I suppose you could) and would be fine with just being able to 'focus it' with headlook.
What I'd like to see is this:
- The last five messages (Was that last material what I was looking for...I don't want to dig through my inventory to see)
- Quick Review of Current Status' on the Ship (What's the warning light on for? What does that weapon status symbol mean? Corrosion? Heat?)
I've been material gathering lately and have found myself - especially in the SRV as I roll back and forth quickly - realizing I wasn't paying attention to what I picked up and wishing the info message didn't disappear so quickly, or better yet, wishing I had a way to review it all without rush at all.
Somewhat unrelated, I've also wanted the following - either in Ship Info, displayed on the primary HUD (the center console) or in the systems panel:
- Ship Jump Odometer: Total Distance Jumped in this ship, this would further establish my ownership of that vessel - or how new it is to me
- Ship Odometer: Total Distance Super-Cruised and Flown in Normal Space in this ship
- Time Since Last Dock (this may be in stats now...can't remember)
- Time since last Fuel Scoop (Can be toggled to reset with each jump or not)
- Distance Traveled Since Last Dock (Again, can't remember if in stats now or not...)
- Time to Fuel Depletion at Current Rate (Percentile and Absolute Measurement of Current Fuel Included)
What I'd like to see is this:
