Horizons Ship Data Link Scanner doesn't appear to work.

I wonder if anyone can help me figure out where I'm going wrong.

I've used the Data Link Scanner in the SRV before now so I'm resonably familiar with it's use.

However when I try to use the Ship Data Link Scanner to scan the Venusian, it won't scan.

Here's what I've done.

1. Bound the scanner to a Fire Group using the trigger.
2. Checked it's enabled, although I do note it's drawing 0% power.
3. Got up close and personal to one of the White markers and target it. (DLS Out of range not showing)
4. Press the trigger to scan.

Nothing happens.

What am I missing?

have you got a discovery scanner? as that is what is used to scan planets.
please give detail on what the Venusian is? planet? mega- ship? white markers are what please?

I finally got it. It seems the DLS is very picky. I was close enough, in fact in my Anaconda I was a little too close. And the ship was pointing slightly too off centre from the node. I had the text more or less in the centre. Once I got it pointed right I was able to scan the logs.
