Detailed Surface Scanner, Discovery Scanners, Docking Computers and Planetary Approach Suites should also be allowed in the Utility section of a ship.
Humans build ships of flexibility and practicality. You keep on designing ships for some weird balance of power/advantage. The new Alliance Chieftain has 3 slots for restricted use, which in my opinion makes it useless. Many of the older ships were designed before Horizons came out and are no longer practical for the current game extensions - you need to redesign many of them and release them as new models.
Why not allow more flexibility on any ship and have a global market that calculates demand and price. So if the Anaconda is the most used ship, let it be the most expensive ( with a max cap - no need to buy one for billions). Let say, for example, that the Hauler is the least used, then its new cheap price will attract new players in getting it.
Core Internal Modules should also be flexible - If I want to install 6A or 7A Frame Shift drive on a Python - why not?
Many games come out allowing players to build there own ships. I do not think ED needs to go this way but you have to give us more flexibility!
BTW, really like the New options in the Beyond beta for Engineers, Technology Broker, Remote workshop and the increased limits for components in the Players Inventory. Can we bribe you for a limited Storage facility on bases for Ship Cargo?
