My brother gave me a "haynes manual" for the millennium falcon last year, and I love the modular design stuff for the YT-1300 variations, which would fit in well with Elite's modular ship designs. They can't do a star wars, but the ship and engine visual configurations could work really well if you get a drive or cockpit upgrade.
Have you been playing Pioneer (with mods) by any chance Abysinth?

They would get sued so hard that FD would no longer exist. Lucasarts is downright violent when it comes to their IP. Unless Disney holds those rights? I can't remember if they just got movie rights, or the entire license.
Anyhow. I wouldn't want to see it in Elite anyway. Elite is its own universe, lets not muddy the waters yeah?
Besides, I'd MUCH rather see a Firefly class transport. Or a Colonial Viper.

Which reminds me, Oolite has the YT1300 too (via an oxp) as well as those two ships OneoftheLost just mentioned
I did mention the "cost of the licence" for the YT1300 so that suing would not happen.
I agree about muddying the waters, it would just be nice to see...
(It would kick off endless arguments about whether the YT1300 was better worse than the Cobra III or the firefly class or what ever.
I want to play not argue about various merits.
