Ship destroyed by station while docked?

Quick question, has anyone experienced a random ship destruction while docked and underneath the platform? I'm currently at Jameson Memorial at the Founders world, docked and lowered, and took a quick bathroom break (~2 minutes). Upon return I see that lovely notification that my ship was destroyed by Jameson Memorial.

Rep is neutral, in open play. and not carrying anything considered illegal to the station, if that makes any difference. Thanks guys!

GOT THE SAME.
I was aproaching station with full cargo of gold in my ship (100 units) i request docking and then click L to deploy landing gear and boom my ship just explode...
I am so behing now cmon, i lost 927 000 CR in cargo and 66 000 for rebuying ship - and my balance after this in 1000 CR... Great...

Any chances to explain why and what happened and return me my lost 1000000 CR ?would be nice becouse now i must sell ship and start it all all over again from nothing

Did you login to find your ship inside the station docking?

Or were you playing, docked manually, left the game on, and went afk?

If it's the first case, it can still happen on some rare occasitions, if its the 2nd one, it technically shouldn't be possible, since you no longer have a physical ship in that instance.

Regardless, file a ticket if it was either one.

Yeah, second situation is correct. Landed, opened outfitting which auto enters you into the hanger, left outfitting after seeing what I was looking for and then went afk for a couple minutes. This by no means is a whining fest, happens and fortunately I'm wealthy enough that rebuys don't hurt all the much, but I wanted to see if this issue was a singularity or if it's a bit more common.

Any chance that you hit launch instead of enter hangar? The animation would start off the same, because the platform drops to turn you around.

Nope, I was actually browsing the outfittings prior to going afk.

Were you still flying? I blew my Anaconda up yesterday by asking for docking permission (granted), hitting boost to save time and while the jets were still firing I brain farted and lowered my landing gear, KABOOM! In my case anyway it wasn't a bug, it was 13m worth of PEBCAC.....

You are invincible while docked.

I had 3000% heat back before they fixed the silent running bug and nothing happens, but as soon as I launched I exploded.

this just happened to me. Pretty frustrating since I'm new and had a cargo hold full of rares. I actually had just upgraded my weapons in the hangar, and the ship kinda turned over and exploded while inside the hangar, the part underneath the station I wasnt even in the area where you can see the exit of the station.

I had no control over the ship since it was still on the screen where it normally is moving you up thru the station back to the landing pad.

This has happened before to other commanders.

The station lasers do not factor in the distance to the contact point, therefore they fire at full length and penetrate right on past the stations hull - Typically it's you're unlucky day when an NPC wanders in hostile to the station and gets fired on at the perfect arc that it also blasts you to pieces while you're taking a nap in the cockpit.

You're definitely still in the instance when docked, even though you can no longer be directly targeted. I've had debris from destroyed ships bounce off me and ding my shields while on the pad. You can also still track all the contacts around you while inside the hangar.

It happens to me too....... Did people who had this bug have been repaid or something ? c

And I have to revive this as well. It still seems to be an issue and I felt it :/
It wrecked my new Imperial Clipper, had my Cargo full but I'm just so happy I still had enough money for the insurance...
Now I'm nearly at 0 CR + money for the insurance. Kinda stuck, can't really trade and I'm not equipped for fighting either.
