Ship hangers - can we have a ship we can dock with ?

We have fighters onboard, which are great fun

Whats missing is a shuttle, so we would be able to dock at an outpost in a large ship.

Now i am sure i read / heard somewhere something about a shuttle becoming (soonTM) available at some point, but i can't find it anywhere.

anyone know ?

No announcements or timescales have ever been given on shuttles, you may have been reading player stuff.

Personally I'm not sure how I feel about it. Part of me really enjoys the trade off between medium and large ships especially trading. Do I take the lower cargo yet higher profit outpost route or do I go for the high tonnage less profit per ton station route etc. The other part of me things It'd be cool.

OP I might be misremembering but I'm fairly sure FD said the opposite that shuttles won't be a thing, or at least docking a small craft from a alrge ship at an outpost won't be a thing, in order that small/med ships keep some functionality. Like I said I may well be misremembering though.

We already have technically...Jacques. A station remains stationary and jacques did not, so even though he technically did not make beagle point, it could still be considered a station shaped carrier because stations dont travel...because they stationary...as in they dont move. If they move, then its a carrier shaped like a station.

I really have to start getting out more ^

Alex Brentnall, unloading a trade cutter with a sidewinder would take forever :D

Thinking more of just picking up or dropping off small amounts of goods / passengers, just visiting the station for missions, dropping of bounties / exploration data

it might be me miss-remembering then CMDR Ofan :D

Stations do move, and they move a lot. They just can't do much about their trajectories, although I suspect they would mount some sort of station-keeping propulsion, just for the occasional tiny bit of trim.

Travelling 22kylies is a little bit more than a bit of trim...just sayin ^
