As in the description, the Asp Pathfinder would provide a non-ranked alternative to the Federal gunship.
Compared to the Asp Explorer, power plant and distributor are upgraded to class 6, and an extra class 6 optional internal is added.
Armament is supplemented with the addition of 2 more class 1 hardpoints at peak of dorsal structure, and with the 2 outboard ventral weapon stations moved to mid-to-far aft, all designed for turret operation. Typically this would allow for 2 pairs of turrets with wide arcs above and below the ship, and the 2 small hardpoints on the chin could be either gimbals or turrets. The 2 medium hardpoints would remain the pilot's main weapons in multi-crew situations. this is of course still up to the captain. The principle addition would be the inclusion of a SLF bay, for fighter operation.
This would provide a progression option between Keelback and Anaconda for SLF capable ships, for multi-role operators that want a non-ranked option.
Aesthetically, I can't deny I'd want a ship paying homage to the VCX-100 from Star Wars.
It's basically an Asp already!
