Ship impounded at detainment centre

Yesterday I was killed on foot while running a mission. I was respawned in a detenction centre. Ship was impounded and couldn't hop into it.
Then I took a shuttle to a nearby station, went to InterAstra. Ship impound fee was 0. I tried to pay, unsuccessfully.
I recalled another ship. Went to an Interstellar Factor, cleared all bounties and fines.
At station shipyard, I try to pay the fee (zero Cr) but I cannot retrieve my ship. Same in my FC, no way I can transfer my ship back.
I actually don't know how often this can happen, first time ever I heard of such thing.
Am I doing something wrong?
Should I go to detainment centre?
Please guys, help !!

To prevent this you need to pay the impound fee at the location the impounded ship is at. I just went through this and stupidly took the shuttle before realizing it. I transferred another of my ships to the station I was at, made it my active ship, then went back to the impound to pick up my original ship. It's kinda like the day after a wild night downtown in rl really....
