[Ship Integrity] Add its reparation to "Repair All"

Hello all.

I only realized yesterday, when having a discussion with a friend and comparing the respective costs of his ASP and my Cobra exploration costs, that my ship was in a bad shape while I thought that it was fully operational...

I did not know about that "Ship integrity" state ! Why is it excluded from the "Repair All" button? Why is there no visual indicator about its state? What happens if I keep ignoring about it and it reaches 0%?

My suggestion, as told in the title, is that the "Repair All" button includes that reparation. Sounds logical...

+1. I agree! Besides, there seems to be some bug. Although it often shows that all modules are 100% intact, the overall repair status isn't.

I have been asking for this since they actually introduced the "integrity" value. Repair All should actually what it implies. Repair EVERYTHING...

I disagree

Damage is damage. Scs, crumples, holes etc.

Integrity is not damage, it is wear and tear. Now I'm not saying the current system is good but I don't want to see integrity under repair all.

I don't like seeing paint under that either :)

You are missing the point. I want a "Repair All ship issues" button with the price tag. Damage is damage. It doesn't matter if you got shot up by the feds or if you flew through a swarm of space gerbil feces. Lost ship integrity is still damage otherwise you wouldn't be paying for it. It needs to be clearly listed in the base station page.

Ship integrity is not damage. It's wear from regular operation and makes your ship more vulnerable to actual damage. The explanation is that it takes a special kind of engineering to diagnose and fix. Running at 0% integrity won't make your ship explode, but you'll take 30% more damage.

Yeah, it'd be nice to be able to just repair everything without having to go look in a submenu whenever I'm looking get in and out of dock quickly.

@Aquamonkey So, when you take your car into the shop for the annual checkup, what are the added charges? They are still called REPAIR charges even though there isn't "damage"....

The point is, it is something that has to be "fixed" and has to be paid for, thus repaired.

Keep them separate I say. (Option to link them together? mmmaybe if you have a higher elite ranking).

At worst you have 2 boxes to tick instead of 1 .. but the plus for gameplay is a tactical decision if low on credit / cash (choose full repair modules over worse damage if you get a hit, or vice versa) and because it creates a pratfall to avoid, which is good for mixing things up. imo.

Good metaphor ... here is your choice "repair all" is check tyres, plugs and lights, everything to make your car road worthy and able to be driven and / or ... "hull integrity" .. refill any rust spots, beat out any panels, give us a respray and vacuum the carpets.

When I take my car to a shop for an annual checkup, they don't repair metal fatigue in the engine or the chassis.

I'm not missing the point. I get the point you are making, I just don't agree with it.

A better suggestion would be have a button that repairs (excluding paint) and another button that does everything you ask for.

When you take your car in, if something has wear but is not yet worn out, you don't get it changed.
Brake pads 30% worn, leave them. The car will still stop.
Suspension bushes not as tight as when it left the factory, leave them unless you are driving hard.
Fluids a bit mucky but still have some life. Change them next time.

The auto analogy doesn't really work because it highlights better we we don't want the current repair all option to include ship integrity.

The system needs looking at, I agree. But I think it needs more thought.

I would like a 'repair everything but the paintwork' option...

Came to post this. If you want to keep paint wear and tear, you have to repair each module one by one every time (forget it once, back to square one). Which sadly makes the whole paint w&t a useless feature.
