Ship integrity and repair all

Could we please get repair all, to actually repair all of the ship? Or move repair integrity to the front?

I'm not asking for the paint to be included. As many people would like their paint to look aged and worn.

This could be accomplished through a few different ways for players to have a choice. Put in a check mark box with in the integrity repair section to have it included in "Repair All". If you did it this way, you could add the same option for the paint also.

It really is redundant to have to click repair all, then go into a menu and click another repair button to actually repair all of the ship.

Yes, I actually do repair ship integrity every single time.

Can we please consider this?

I'd go further and remove ship integrity entirely, as it's completely pointless. Unless you're on a long exploration trip, it does nothing except trip up people who don't realise Repair All doesn't touch it. If you're on a long exploration trip, it makes your hull slightly weaker and then does nothing.

But yeah, if it's going to be kept, make it at least an option to count it under Repair All. It'll mean there's a few credits in that box after every trip, but that's not a big deal.

It would also be nice to be able to set a target paint job integrity, and have Repair All repair up to that level if you drop below it.

Think it used to take care of that and paint as part of the repair all. But then people wanted to show off their faded paint jobs while still being able to hit the 'repair all' button.

Was never an issue, for me at least. It is still in game though, under advanced maintenance. And it's not designed to be clicked on after every short trip. Just look at it like wear and tear on your car, get it serviced every now and then, not after every drive.
it used to be like this but it was patched out early in horizons. now repair all actualy repairs all

it makes no sense.

It does, it's just people OCD over it for some strange reason. An integrity check is like heavy hull maintenance on ships/aircraft, repairing stress fractures. Repair all is fixing anything that is damaged on the ship.

The only weird thing is that (in real life) you'll eventually get a catastrophic hull failure due to micro fractures, in ED we have a safety net, 0% integrity = 70% hull strength. This was obviously put in place to protect long range explorers.

Yes, and this is exactly the reason that makes existence of this feature no sense and having to go to adv maintenance tab for feature that is so little relevant is annoying.
Initially this was introduced for people that were short on credits but over time repairing costs came cheaper and cheaper and now this feature is no longer needed, especially in current form.

I disagree, the game is simulating ships in use, if a ship is out exploring away from a port, it's hull should be weaker, the safety net is a compromise. For anyone else, stop getting ocd over it.

Heck, I click on Advanced Maintenance then Ship Integrity every time I dock at a station. I guess I'm a bit OCD, in that sense. My ships are always in tip top shape. :)

wait.. you're telling me they actualy returned it back to the way it was before?
They have never removed integrity repair and it is still stuck in a second section that you have to go into to click on. I repair it after every single flight.

If I click on "Repair ALL" I expect ALL repairs to be made and charged. I shouldn't then have to go further into an advanced section to repair something further.

This is just a horrible user interface design. Having it seperated does not provide the player with a greater sense of accomplishment for having to go into the advanced section.

A very simple checkbox to Include integrity and another for paint would be very simple for them. They can remain in the advanced section as far as the interface goes. But when you then click on "Repair ALL" it includes them if they are check marked. Nice, simple, and easy. Very little effort for them compared to programming Fleet Carriers which are 95% interface.

actualy they did back when horizons first came out. they made it so the repair all button actually repaired all.
So I guess i never noticed them having actualy returned it to the game.
Funny they would return that "Feature" and not put rank locked missions back since they are so intent on nerfing all sources of income to prevent newbies from flying big vessels in the first week of play.

No, they did not do that with Horizons. I have been playing since beta. You won't find any patch notes that state they rolled that into "repair all".

As for generating income you can go mining "right now" and make plenty. But this discussion is not about that. Go check out youtube if you need that info. Come carriers it will get even easier to help new players jump into big vessels. Sell your friends cargo at 1 credit apiece and let them go sell it. Keep your carrier locked to friends only and no one else can take advantage of it. Presto, capitalism at its best.

You're making a case for integrity to remain a separate kind of repair field. I don't care, it may as well. It is just INCONVENIENT to go to another screen and repair it separately. As a gamer, I'd love to remove these extra clicks.

Wasn't ship integrity removed from repair all due to player requests?

Once having changed it due to player requests I very much doubt they will ever change it back.
yes they did remove or "fix" it early in horizons when it first launched and the claims saying that was never the case are entirely false. to my knowledge until now the "integrity" issue has been fixed since horizons launched and who ever necro'ed this thread is mis-informed. however if it is back in the game then thats rather odd.

It was never changed. Am going through old screenshots on my rig, can you posts a screenshot of the tab missing? Also keep in mind since the start it has not been available at all ports, like many other services.

There was a massive reduction in costs at one point. I have tons of posts on the subject.
