Dont know about anyone else but I for one am a bit bummed that in order to keep my ship integrity up I need to get and keep a fresh paint job.
To me, the wear and tear of a ship's paint job is kind of a yardstick of how long I've kept that ship alive. I take pride and like the look of the wear and so far when I've been killed I've been more bummed about the aesthetic change of a new ship more than I've been bummed about insurance costs for getting up and running again.
I remember reading when I first started a blurb stating that wear and tear was part of the game and you'd be able to tell that a ship has been busy out doing stuff by physically inspecting that ship and seeing how worn down it was. This rings true today but unfortunately, if the shipowner was even only slightly responsible he's forced to repaint his ship the first chance he gets so as to not be at a disadvantage if he gets into a fight.
Would much rather see paint separate from integrity.
