Ships Ship Interiors

I'm not cool with the old and worn interiors of some of the Ships. If I buy a new Sidewinder or Lakon type 7, why does it look like I got it from the discount lot? Newly bought ships should be pristine... I could understand if there was a market for used ships. My Type 7 looks like it was previously owned, by a portly fellow who like to eat, pizza, fried chicken, hamburgers fries and drink soda in the cockpit. Maybe a cigar smoker too.

Because all ships are old military ships stripped out, its in the lore somewhere.

Edit: If you want a new and clean looking ship you have to go for Orca/Clipper/FDL/Anaconda. There may be one or two more but pretty much all the trading vessels were not looked after by previous owners :p

Anaconda dose not look 100 % " pristine " either. I have to agree with Veyder even it they are indeed strip down military ship, they should have technology in 3300 to at least IMPROVE some of the damage system or repair them, why the heck i still see cables duck-taped to the side of the metal plate. Even in our times seller dose his best to improve sold item as much as possible.

They should at least provide the ability to improve the quality of your ship for a fee.

Perhaps it is something FD could rethink after they released planetary landing and other expansion stuff in a year or 4.
It is not a big deal I think.

If you want a luxury ship then buy a Clipper or Courier from the imperial factories or mabe an Orca, the manufactures in game fill different niches in ship production and the ships you complain about look that way beause that's what their customers want, the money goes into the ships ability to earn credits not sooth it's pilots eyeballs.

you wouldn't go buying a 20 year old transit van or a Scorpion tank and complain it wasn't finished inside like a brand new Jaguar or Bentley.

I hear you, but in that case why is the eagle looking mint ? It is the only one, with its in game description at least, which should look used.

And we didn't say luxury ship, just looking new if bought new.

I like it when it looks scruffy and functional with exposed wires and rusty bits, should add an ashtray and beer fridge with crumpled cans on the floor of the cockpit too.
Clipper is too 'star wars cgi prequels' for my liking.

I see your point, but if I bought a ship for millions, I would expect that ship to be new... especially the ship is not listed as refurbished or decommissioned, which would imply that it is new not 20yrs old.

I just think you should have the choice, new or used appearance

The Lakon´s are ugly working horses (T7 first of all).
Some like the StarTrek polished look. Some (including me) prefer the used and bulky looks of the Nostromo or Serenity.

To be honest, the Lakons still do not look complex enough for me (T9 is okayish), but the Diamondbacks are a good start :p
But I love my Clipper though - but it´s cockpit is a bit too apple-ish.

I am glad we got the choice !
