Ship Inventory vs. Ship Locker?

So, I put in a support ticket for a mission that wouldn't complete and they said they put qty 5 Manufacturing Instructions in my inventory. I don't see it (I had 8 already). Here's the response from support:

"So to confirm, I can see you have 8 Manufacturing Instructions in your ship's locker.

You should also see 5 of them in your ship's inventory, I can confirm they're there when I look at your account from our end.

Could you send us a screenshot of what you're seeing when you look at your inventory?"

What's the difference between ship's locker and ship's inventory?

Probably because they are closed, and Wonko doesn't want to appear daft if the answer is easy to spot?

That's exactly why. They're closed and I wanted to see if anyone here knew the difference.

Regarding me appearing daft, that boat sailed a long time ago, BH!

Unless there's some functionality that has been hidden from us all this time, there's only one shared ship/SRV storage. Maybe they put them in your FC?

No prob mate, I just didn't know if you'd had the chance to look since you had to nip away from discord. Some of the other guys probably have far better ideas than me on there, but I wonder if it's that sort of annoying thing to easily miss.

What's the difference between ship's locker and ship's inventory?

Ship inventory is the cargo/refinery and the ship engineering materials inventory (also the passengers if you have any)
Ship storage is for on-foot engineering materials

Maybe they've put the xtra 5 MI in your Suit inventory? - assuming you were on foot while the support was investigating your support ticket.
However, as soon as you board your ship (or the Srv/Apex) those 5 MI would have been transferred in the Ship storage.
Unless your storage was full and you chose emergency boarding which discards everything in your backpack

Good point. The support guy said he could see it in my inventory, but I was already in my ship at the time. I'll disembark and embark and see what happens.

Heard back from support, and it was simply an issue of misreading a setting in my account. They got it all straightened out.
