Horizons Ship Kits

Hi fellow CMDRs,

When I first started playing Horizons in my naivety I thought that ship kits were actual plastic model kits like Airfix when I was a lad. Not sure if there would be a big demand but if there is does anybody has any links to a company like that that could approach Frontier to create models of our favourite rides?

I would love a scale model of my Python say maybe a foot long that I could display in my den. Not sure how bit an Anaconda or Corvette model would be at that scale...maybe I would need to move to a bigger place!

Cheers,

GD

I keep meaning to E-mail Airfix about this. I hope to play to the British heritage to convince them.

Yes, I would love to have the kits of my fleet. Some time ago I found a paper model of the Anaconda, somewhere, printed it out and tried to build it, but apparently during the last fifteen, twenty years I lost some of my patience and fingers a lot of their dexterity and the whole poor thing ended up thrown away.

But proper kits? Oh, that would be glorious. :)

I am glad I wasn't the only one. Until just the other day I too thought the kits for sale in the store was for actual models that you put together lol. I didn't find out the difference until I was watching a Youtube video and it was mentioned.

Yeah, you don't need kits. Just the model data being licensed to a company with 3D printing capability. They can print in anything, not just plastic - that includes precious metals, too.

Thats not the point... Most of the point of a build it yourself model kit is (spoiler alert) to build it yourself... :)
