Description
When you deploy a Ship Launched Fighter, in terms of combat, the NPC in the fighter will become your wingman. However, the deployed fighter, when issued with a "maintain formation" or "defend" order, will assume a position on the right, behind your ship.
If you look at a typical Finger Four formation used by fighters in the current day, the position behind to the right, would normally be occupied by the element lead, rather than your wingman. In wing combat, this position would therefore be occupied by your fellow Commander, rather than your fighter.
A formation would usually look like this;
To put it another way - the fighter should deploy in the number 2 position, but always goes to the number 3 position.
Thanks to Cmdr Olivia Vespera for providing the diagram.
(The date and time given are an example of when I had a deployed fighter, but this is not a time critical issue. Similarly it occurs the same with any SLF capable ship, and any fighter.)
Steps to Reproduce
1) Equip fighter bay in outfitting
2) Exit station, and no-fire zone
3) Deploy fighter
4) Observe fighter takes up number 3 position
