Ship Launched Fighters

I may have missed some info on these but can't seem to find the info

1. Is there a limit to how far the ship launched fighters can be from the control ship, and what happens to them if they are outside this limit?

I guess when they leave the control limit they become free NPC's and will attack you. (wouldn't that be consistent with other bugs?

This can't be right because they are remotely controlled the pilot is always aboard the control ship.

Noticed when winging up with a friend in a CZ who was in a Cobra and I was in my anaconda that the two paired more effectively than to Condas (obviously load outs matter here). Anyway, the nimbler ship and the beefy Conda really looked out for each other well. I'm wondering if it will be similar with ship launched fighters.

I had wished they would not have a tether limit because I was really looking forward to using these to explore planets till the srv is needed

I'm fairly sure an FDEV chap mentioned 20km when they were interviewed regarding this on Lave Radio.

I'm not super up on the ship based fighters as I've only got single seated ships, but can someone tell me if these are the ship based fighters that we will be seeing soon? They are tiny compared to a Sidewinder. I keep finding them about while picking up scrap parts. They are defo cool if they are. http://imgur.com/a/oCXNB
