Newcomer / Intro Ship Location (1) ? Does that mean I own another ship?

playing in solo for practice
spawing in Trevithick dock a station with no commodity markets
headed to eravate system and McMaron
out of SC came across a ship showing wanted so had a go got him and proceeded to McMaron intending to then go on to next jump again got in to a fight with help of some federation ships hit one by mistake and fined
limped back to original station lost cargo i picked up spent nearly all credits on repairs and new cargo at another station another fight and lost not enough cash for the insurance
So I re started the game after this but can not find the second ship I got as part of the kickstarter so have i lost it (and restarted in Trevithick dock again with no commodity's and no bulletin missions )

Are we able to sell that Eagle? I want to, but it says that I can sell it for -40,000 ish. MINUS 40k? Does that mean it takes 40K away from me? I'd like to think not, but there are crazy things in Elite about money like that (since it was a free ship, maybe they want their credits back?)

There is/was some bugs in the shipyard/storage system.
I had just bought a Type 7 (which subsequently got blown up due to the infamous mass dmg bug) I stored it, then when I went back to the station to swap it back it said it was there but wouldnt let me get to it. Just another bug thats stopped me playing.
I dont have enough cash left over for my cargo float that I lost when coming in to a station as a cobra NPC slightly touched my ship...Frontier being frontier the ticket wont get looked at for another month or so, so I might see my cash again or not, who know.

If you've got the free Eagle AND you start, after a 'clear save', at Trevithic Dock (LHS 3447), then your free Eagle should be stored at Dalton Gateway.
I always start at Trevithic Dock and my free Eagle is always at Dalton Gateway (my free Eagle is still stored there now, and I haven't done a 'clear save' for a month or so).
