Ship "manufacturer dealers"

So in 2022 most car dealers are categorized by manufacturer (ford, Chevy, nissan, etc.) And the only new cars these dealers sell are cars from their manufacturer (Ford sells new fords only, chevy sells new chevys only). The only exception to this rule is used car lots where you will find a little bit of everything.
PROPOSAL: make starport shipyards only sell 1 make of ships (core dynamics sold at starport around planet 1, lakon only sold at starport around planet 2, delacy sold at starport around planet 3) but have "used ship lots" that sell a selection like current.
This would #1 make finding the ship you want easier as if u want Corvette u go to core dynamics dealer (only found in federal space or colonia) or if u want cutter u go to gutamaya dealer (only found in imperial space or colonia)
Each dealer type would have a "style" core dynamics dealers wouod be more reselbling core dynanics interior design. Same for the other dealer types. And these dealers would have sales based around galactic events. The exception to this would be Jameson memorial and the other one not elite only these would not change. But that would add much immersion to the game.

So that's like having, say, you can only buy ford cars in New York, if you want a Chevy you need to go to Los Angeles, a Toyota you need to go to San Diego and etc, you see wat that sounds like? Silly? yes indeed!

No. Because multiple dealers can be in the same system. Its more like buy ford in town A buy Chevy in town B not states.

That's a terrible suggestion, thanks for posting it in this sub-forum.

Multiple dealers can be in the US that was just an example and nothing to do with separate states, how did you even jump to that conclusion? Even in individual states there are multiple dealers, stations are like cities in a star system, so the analogy is perfect. You want to restrict certain cities from selling particular manufacturers models, so what you want for example is Houston in Texas to only sell Fords and Dallas in Texas to only sell Chevy? The entire idea is bizarre to say the least.
