Ship-Mission that lead to on Spaceleg-Mission and vice versa

I am thinking of something similar as the chained-missions that allready exist.

Example:1
  • Get mission to eliminate Base-defences via Ship
  • If succesfull, you need to inflitrate the base on foot and continue
  • Extract Data/Item - Kill person/hack whatever/upload virus
  • Escape via ship/on foot

Example: 2

  • Get mission to deactivate base-turrets on foot
  • If successfull land with ship
  • Board SRV to steal 2 Tons of Cargo
  • Escape via ship/on foot

Needing to land, clear an area, board the ship, get the srv, go back to the area, grab cargo, go back to the ship. Just sounds like needles tedium.

Why does the mission giver of A insist I destroy the defenses in a ship and the one for B want me to do it on foot? Why can't I just do it how I want?

I agree with the concept of interlaced missions. I would vastly prefer a series of chained missions like this with a narrative thread running through as an approach to ship, permit, engineer and module unlocks instead of basic fetch quests and grinds.

Go to a settlement
access a data port
download the location of an assassination target - a different settlement, or en-route in a ship *.
fly there
kill it by whatever means (ship/SRV/on-foot)

* bonus points if it can be in an APEX-shuttle.

Some pretty good points.
I´ve come to realise, that in a small ship for the "Eliminate the Settlement-Occupants"-mission.
You really need to land either in cover or 2.5km away,
because the Anti-ship turrets can take you down.

In general, i think chained-missions for various Types; srv/legs/ship, would also solve the problem of
the constant back and forth traveling from missionboard to missionboard.

We do have Radios, do we ?

"Mission Accomplished Commander,
Your Credits will be transfered..
are you interested in further deployment?"

Chained missions with narrative. And some voice acting. Comms messages and videos from the quest giver, even if it's just them talking to you. Could really add some flavour.

The voice acting in the game already can be really great. And look what they did with those Commander Chronicles youtube videos way back in the day.

...and remember the Damocles video from ALLL the way back during kickstarter.
