Just a quick question. Is there any reason why you couldn't (before I try it out) buy A7 shield gen at Shinrarta and sell it for profit in another system?

51M component @ 10% discount available in Shinrarta = 5.1M per sale?

What am I missing? Does the sale price elsewhere equal the original purchase price automatically and prevent this?

When you sell it, you get only the price you originally paid for. What you describe was possible in the past, it was actually an exploit and some CMDRs got their ill gotten credits erased iirc.
