If I want my ship's name/ ID on the hull and I spend the ARX, do I have to buy the label for every ship, or does buying it once cover it all?

For the ship name/ID labels, you can re-use them as often as you want. That goes for I'd say most of the cosmetic stuff, but ISTR that there once were some limits with some of the cockpit decorations. I haven't seen any limits on the stuff I have, though.

If you buy or otherwise gain any kind of decal, including nameplates, you can use them on any and all of your ships. The only things ship-specific are the paintjobs, and even there, if you own multiples of a ship type, you can use the paintjob multiple times.

Ship kits are ship sopecific too.

Engine colours work for all your ships and the SLFs
Weapon colours work for all ships, SLFs and SRV

Carrier have their own engine colours that have to be purchased separately.

Dunno. Maybe you don't frequent the Newcomers section that much, but unlike other, more shadowy parts of the forum, I'd say most threads here have happy endings.
