I know we can upgrade to a variety of weapons and other parts, cargo scanners, heat sinks, and new bulkheads but have the dev's mentioned anything about being able to upgrade your ships engines/drives at any point? It would be pretty nice to be able to deck out ships specced for only fighting, piracy and trading by installing drives that would be specifically designed for those playstyles. Thoughts?

My understanding is that these are in the pipeline, and I'll be astonished if they don't appear soonish. (Next Beta ?)

I agree this would be good soon. Not good fully kitting out a viper to find it has a jump range of 4.7 or something to that effect.
