I'm trying to figure out what prefix I want to put before my ship name. What prefixes do you guys know of?

Examples? Im not sure what you mean.
I use DSP for my ships. Stands for Dark Sky Paradise because of space and all that. But flight control uses TCU. Have to admit, that was a damn nice touch the first time I heard it and realized what was happening.
FDN & INV are the standard fed/imperial prefixes. Anything else is just made up, pick what you want.
Many use a prefix to identify them as a member of a wing. Some have personal reasons, its up to the individual what they want.

Fer some, a ships name has some sorta meaning to them...all mine are named after something I enjoyed like my cutter is called ¨Fried Snowball¨ or me chieftain ¨Third Nipple¨. Those are the names I gave to something I created after years of trial and error, a very personal thing to me.
I know what a prefix is but Im unsure in the context ye mean...?
is INV really the prefix for imperials? not going to make a cheap joke, but where does that come from and what does it stand for?

For my combat ships i use the navy prefixes, for example my FDL is F.N.S Defiant and my ieagle in I.N.V Predator i dont use prefixes for other ships
