Ship recall bug

So, I got a simple mission, I finished the mission then I get away, and I recall the ship. Hostile settlement near, so I get a bit away in order to call the ship.
Like always - Murphy law is present in Oddy - the ship chose the ONLY place with rocks in the fraking PLANE landspot and obvious, I cannot get the SRV underbelly because the FDevs codded the landing sequence without playing the game - so, even if you are in a place where is a lot of space for the ship to land straight, so you can fit at will underbelly, nop, the ship will choose the only place with rocks so you cannot fit !
Usually I need to repeat 5 of 10 "boarding" sequences because the ship seems to be unable to select a decent spot for landing.... I switched the DBX for a ICourrier in order to avoid this trouble ( the DBX sit in his so you can approach only from 3 directions, but the ICourrier is a bit taller so is easier to get under - not a good trade since my DBX could do 60yl jump, and now I can do less than half...) . But now I only repeat 1 of 3, so.... is a bit better.

I was thinking - well, then let's put the SRV in that spot and force the ship to land in another place - or, at least, to land over srv.
But I underestimated the FDevs "skills" in codding the land sequence - the ship will come near, and will REFUSE to land, running away next !
Watch the vid and laugh !

Just let it land, get out of your SRV, get into your ship on foot, land the ship a few meters further where the ground is clear, get out of your ship, walk back to your SRV, get in, drive back to the ship and board it. It's a bit of a PITA, but it's the only way sometimes, had to do it myself once or twice already.

Sure, why to enter hose trough front door, in 1 minute, when you can circle back, dig a tunnel under, and rise right on front room, in 3 days ?
I will not even get in the mess called "missions" where we need to restart / re-log in order to achieve the missions objectives - that is, except those missions where the codding is so bad you cannot even do that ( like "exterminates x pirates from a settlement where are NO pirates at all...) .

Yes I have noticed the ships will tend to try and land in the same spot each time, once it finds a good spot that's the one it wants. When I had this issue I found the only solution was to drive far enough in the SRV, not sure exactly how far it is but probably around a klm or 2, this forces the ship to search for a new spot closer to your summon location.

it not funny guys i had it too............ just recall the ship again @Sena
other way is to move the Srv away from the spot and try recall again.

I do not know about you, but after I exterminated a Military Settlement, and I drove out over 2 km in my SRV, I was followed by an Anaconda and 2 medium, all shooting the crap out of my SRV - I was loosing shields each 30-45 seconds, and only making jumps and sudden change of direction I manage to recover shields - so, to be able to fast board my ship was crucial for me - but noooo, my ship wanted exactly the only place with rocks in all the plateau... When I managed to get on-board, I was with srv hull at 26 %...
So yeah, I wait for you to get in a similar situation, so I can laugh also at your pain...:p

I do that - I did that - except for situations when you are under heavy fire - and assaulting a Military Settlement can go south fast, with an Anaconda and several medium ships hunting your SRV.... they are all way faster than you, and you will get in troubles fast... in other words, you do not have always the luxury of driving away more and searching for another spot...

You need to drive out at least 5-7 km for the ships on Combat Air Patrol above the settlement to leave you alone
Alternatively, if you can survive the 15s relog timer, you can simply relog. Extremely immursion breaking, but meh! 🤷‍♂️

Indeed, but the problem was : that settlement was surrounded by a nice plateau, with straight terrain, up to 2-3 km - in the middle of a chain of mountains - after that, was only crevasses , big rocks, very hard terrain to drive - my SRV tumbled 2-3 times , and all under constant heavy fire, especially ridiculous accurate rail guns from the ships above. Couldn't find a place to hide, couldn't run, so yeah, hell on the road... And when I found a place for my ship to land, I couldn't get under, to board, because... the ship landed NOT in the straight place, but yes up, on top of some rocks ... I re-logged with hull at 26 % , srv upside-down, half shields, and only by a miracle I survived...

Well, i guess your next attack on a Military Settlement will have a better planned escape route :)

2 klms, you're practically sitting in the settlement, I've run further than that away from guards.
Is NOT the guards man, is the AIR patrol ( in my case a big bad Annie and 2 Cheffy...all spiting missiles and rail slugs at my poor SRV, for some 2-5 minutes who lasted, for me, like a full hour.... I re-loged at some 4-5km away, exhausted and almost dead...

i doing a mission on a settlement at the moment yes i know it hard to get the srv to move over the rocks without tumbling.
nice plateau but has a nice drop on all sides. not Having had many issues with ship yet! landing ok. although it a steep climb sometimes. 4/8 skimmers removed.

done the tumbling trick already on this mission. 3-4 rolls over then bop back on the wheels again:)

If is not a Military settlement, with Air Patrol to chase you after, you will be ok....

Not being able to recall the ship so it lands in the settlement, even if hostile is stupid, it's not Elite Safe we're playing.

I bet the dude who codded the landing sequence on "recall the ship" with AI do not bother to play the game ! Today, I lost more than 30 minutes in order to force the damn AI to land the ship in a decent spot. Is a HUGE plateau near me, but the ship insist on landing right on top of huge rocks !
I did over 10 call/recall sequences, I got some 10 km (!!!) in the ice hills, 2-3 times the ship landed in spots with big rocks right on the place where the SRV should fit, so no way to get there ! Drive 1 km more - same dumb AI behavior - right on top of inaccessible rocks, or in some flat little spot but with rocks on the SRV fitting place, so you cannot get on the slot...
Dear EDevs, if you are unable to code this sequence in a decent manner, please then make an "auto-docking" for the srv and allow us to avoid this unnecessary pain your mistakes forces into us...
I ended up quit-rage the fraking game, this is so dumb... I re-logged in ED simple version, as last recourse, in order to get back on my ship... And that worked .
