I'm sure I've raised this before, but I can't remember what the thread was.
It used to be that as a Bounty Hunter, I could routinely interdict ships, politely explain that this was a "routine security scan and no cause for alarm, so long as the scan-ee was not wanted for any criminal activity".
If they passed the scan, all good. I would wish them well and even offer to provide secure passage to their destination.
If not, well.. a bounty hunter has to make money, right?
Anyway, since one of the recent updates (I forget which), you now get fined / bountified for interdicting ships which goes against how a Bounty Hunter works (since we try and stay within the law - where possible).
So we are reduced to being forced to mini-scan ships in SuperCruise, which is relatively pointless, since "most" Wanted ships move to a different system and therefore show up as Clean until scanned.
There really should be a way that we could scan ships properly for bounties while in SuperCruise (or find out "somehow" if the ships around have bounties on them).
Or even better yet, have a sort of AoE scanner that scans everywhere around you in say, a 1000Ly radius, reporting back any / all ships that are wanted criminals nearby.
That would be awesome.
As it is now, I'm seriously getting tired of trying to be a player Bounty Hunter these days. There's little point.
Being a player-pirate would be so much easier.
